Michael Scholes is an International Aromatic Consultant, therapeutic formulator and natural perfumer who is president of the Virginia based Laboratory of Flowers, an Eco Essential Oil Supply Company. Michael was trained in England and France by two of France’s leading specialists, Dr. Daniel Penoel (aromatic medicine) and Pierre Franchomme (leading specialist in essential oils for more than 35 years). He has spent the last 33 years teaching the Art and Science of Aromatics in the US and has presented over 15,000 hours of classes to over 30,000 students worldwide including Asia, North and South America and Europe.
While Michael specializes in all things aromatic his passion is combining aroma and therapy in exploring the source of a person’s suffering and then creating aromatic based solutions through essential oils, formulations, remedies and products for the bath, body, skin and hair. Each blend is formulated with the intent to heal the condition, not just the symptoms, as well as provide aromatic interventions, specifically under stress. This process involves looking deeply into a person’s psychopathy and designing blends in order to fit receptor sites for healing and mood enhancement. Michael uses over 600 essential oils that he has collected and promotes through his “Library of Fragrance.” In 2000 Michael helped create an Aromatic fragrance, “World Sensorium” that was released in over 200,000 scent strips over Time Square at midnight on December 31st, 1999. World Sensorium is a single complex scent comprised of culturally associative aromatic photogenic materials of world flora experienced int eh olfactory domain, formulated on population percentages and was created from over 100 essential oils.
